Dear Masters students,
I shall be teaching both Lingua inglese A c.p. and Lingua inglese B c.p. courses this year.
Both courses will be meeting in the classroom and will run through both semesters; the timetable for the first semester is follows:
Lingua inglese A c.p. - Mondays, 14.00-16.00 aula II
Lingua inglese B c.p. - Thursdays, 11.00-13.00 aula II until 11/11; Wednesdays, 9.00-11.00 L7 from 17/11.
Which course should you follow?
This depends on whether you are following courses in Literature or Linguistics.
Literature students should follow Lingua inglese A c.p. in their first year of postgraduate studies and Lingua inglese B c.p. in the second.
Linguistics students may take both courses concurrently or in successive years.
Course content
Lingua inglese A c.p. is an English maintenance class with the emphasis on conversation. Students will be expected to read or watch material each week in preparation for the classes. Each student is required to give a ten minute presentation; ongoing assessment will also be based on the criteria of attendance, participation, and performance.
Lingua inglese B c.p. has the dual aims of writing and translating subtitles, as well as practicing academic writing. Assessment will be based on the independent production of a short stretch of subtitles as well as the submission of a word essay (800 -1000 words).
