  • 2016 October-cont. Director of the field survey project: Livorno Ferraris (Vercellae, Piedmont). A 5 years survey project Livorno Ferraris is a modern settlement 30 km west of Vercellae, in Cisalpine, in the Augustan Regio XI Transpadana.
  • 2015 March- ongoing Co-director (with Milena Melfi) of the excavations at Villa Adriana, Tivoli: Plutonium. A project with Dr Milena Melfi (Oxford University) and architect Prof. Gilberto Montali (Palermo University) of a study, architectural survey, georadar survey and excavations program of the so called Plutonium area in Hadrian’s villa, Tivoli (Rome).

  • 2014 April- 2017 April Director of a field survey project: Santa Sofia of Torre d’Isola (Pavia). Walking survey (3 years project) and topographical relief of the area where Charles Magne founded a church (Santa Sofia) during his siege of Pavia. The aim of this project is to carry out a historical-topographical and archaeological investigation of an area which was both the first Celtic settlement in the region and the first site of early medieval Pavia. The project is characterized by collaboration: with other departments at the University of Pavia (Civil Engineering and Architecture, Earth and Environmental Sciences), with the Soprintendenza Archeologica of Lombardy and with the British School at Rome.

Oct 2011- ogoing Co-organizer (with Cesare Zizza, Professor of Greek History, Pavia, of the “Cantieri d’Autunno” multi-disciplinary seminar series, now in its third year. The “Cantieri d’Autunno” seminars were included within the academic Celebrations for the 650th anniversary of the foundation of the University Pavia. The purpose of this seminar series is to increase academic collaboration between scholars at Pavia, who, for various reasons and with different methodologies, are working on the ancient world (from the third millennium BC to the Middle Ages). The “Cantieri d’Autunno” events represent an occasion for participants to present and discuss their ongoing work as a prelude to further collaborations. The project includes the organization of an annual series of seminars which are open to an audience of lecturers, researchers, PhD students and UG students. From year to year the "Cantieri d’Autunno" present preliminary (in press or in progress) contributions and well as the final results of research collaborations.
